This renovation project intends to bring Power Engineering and Instrumentation programs to Northwestern Polytechnic’s Grande Prairie campus.

Using the model of a training centre versus siloed program labs, the goal of the renovation is to maximize the benefits and synergies of co-locating programs into a shared space.

The centre aims to meet the academic requirements of the programs, tailored to local industry needs.

The training centre will provide a collaborative working environment for cohorts of 20 power engineering students and 20 instrumentation students.

Sharing spaces, these students will be exposed to a working environment closer to industry than if they were learning independently.

The renovation is anticipated to be finished in time for these students to start in September 2025.
