Thinkspace’s interior design team was engaged to create a 1,060 sq m daycare with six classrooms for children aged 0-5 in an existing commercial space. The team designed the daycare, prepared contract documents, and steered the project through construction to occupancy.

The daycare design encourages independent learning and natural play by creating a comfortable yet dynamic environment for children and staff. Each of the classrooms has a slightly different yet complementary theme and colour palette.

A key feature of the overall design scheme is a preserved moss wall, which creates a welcoming sense of arrival in the sophisticated reception area.

Two benches – one filled with preserved plants and another lined with real birch branches – animate the hallways between classrooms and promote an appreciation of nature for the children.

The space also includes child-sized washroom fixtures and a commercial-grade kitchen / food preparation area.
