Thinkspace was engaged by SD35 to design a two-story 8 classroom volumetric modular addition at Nicomekl Elementary School. Increasing capacity of 240 students, the project optimizes module size, centralizing classrooms, and grouping support spaces efficiently.

A 4′ crawlspace aligns the ground floor with the existing school, reducing the look and feel of a modular build and increasing classroom ceiling heights.

The modular units were factory built with frames, openings, and interiors, while cladding and roofing were completed on-site, improving both envelope performance and design flexibility.
