Thinkspace is delighted to announce the appointment of Allan Francis, Architect AIBC, LEED® AP, as a partner in the practice.
Allan has been made a partner to recognize his significant and ongoing contributions to the practice over the past five years, including the Maddaugh, Douglas, and Edgewood elementary school projects, a new $200-million film studio complex, and numerous other civic and commercial projects that have come through the studio in that time.
Prior to joining Thinkspace in 2018, Allan worked at two national general contractors where he was part of the teams that delivered two separate public-private partnership healthcare projects. His experience on these roles will help ensure that Thinkspace drawings and services provided to construction partners are in line with industry expectations.
Allan’s addition to the existing partnership team, which includes Henk Kampman, Lee Blanchard, Ray Wolfe, and Todd Dust, will ensure the long-term viability of Thinkspace as one of Western Canada’s leading design firms. It will also serve to bolster Thinkspace’s ability to service clients in the growing civic and commercial sectors.
“I’m very excited as my role and responsibilities amongst the Thinkspace leadership team evolve, and look forward to help to sustainably grow the practice,” said Allan. “I believe very strongly in what we’re striving towards with this talented group of people and will continue to collaborate with all our team members to deliver quality work for our clients.”
This expansion of the partnership group marks a significant milestone in the firm’s 60-year history and serves to reinforce its dedication to delivering exceptional architectural solutions for clients.
Ray Wolfe, partner at Thinkspace, commented on Allan’s new position within the practice: “As a partner, Allan will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Thinkspace. His passion for sustainable design, combined with his technical skills and ability to deliver excellent work in multiple sectors, will further strengthen our commitment to delivering innovative and environmentally-responsible projects,” said Wolfe.
“Allan’s collaborative approach, attention to detail with operational tasks, a strong desire to improve processes and services, and client-focused mindset align perfectly with Thinkspace’s core values, ensuring continued design excellence and client satisfaction at all levels.”
Congratulations, Allan! We’re thrilled to have you step into this new role!
