Ray Wolfe and Nick Bevilacqua from Fast + Epp, will be presenting at the Wood Solutions Conference taking place in Vancouver next week. The conference is dedicated to design and construction with wood products and building systems, including mass timber.
Though timber construction offers a viable option for three and four-storey school buildings, code constraints have limited timber schools to a maximum of two-storeys while also imposing overall floor area limitations. Ray and Nick’s presentation, “Design Options for Three- and Four-Storey Wood Buildings in British Columbia,” will discuss the range of possible timber construction approaches for school buildings up to four-stories in height within a seismic region.
The conference takes place at the Vancouver Convention Centre – East in Vancouver, BC on November 5, 2019. The full WSC Presentation Outline can be viewed here.
