Joanna Sotomski-Baker

Joanna’s experience on a range of public and institutional projects, along with her thesis “Sensory-Informed Architecture – Long-Term Care for People Living with Mid to Late-Stage Dementia,” has shaped what she enjoys most about architecture: being part of creating environments that people will one day enjoy and connect with, especially spaces that make kids excited to go to school.
Joanna appreciates Thinkspace’s thoughtful design approach and diverse project types, and is looking forward to growing her skillset through meaningful, purpose-driven work.
Outside of work, Joanna enjoys biking and hiking in the Fraser Valley, Tri-Cities, Squamish, and Whistler to get away from the city. She also enjoys travelling, particularly to destinations known for their landscapes and hiking trails—most recently Portugal and Switzerland, with Canada’s East Coast next for its scenery, architecture, and, most importantly, seafood.
