Originally from Poland, Joanna has been living with her family in Canada since the age of 2. She is still fluent in Polish and continues to carry on Polish traditions and close ties with her family in Poland. She grew up in North Delta where her interest in architecture began by taking a drafting and design course early on in high school.
Joanna graduated from the BCIT Architectural Building Technology Diploma program in 2015. During the two years at BCIT, Joanna was also able to gain some professional experience, working on various projects that ranged from multi family, small scale commercial and elementary schools. Since graduating Joanna has been working on high end custom homes for the past four years. It was the architecture of complex homes on unique and challenging sites which needed careful detailing and planning that was attracting and exciting.
In 2016, Joanna enrolled in the RAIC Syllabus program, an alternative way to become a registered architect while still being able to achieve professional experience. Since being enrolled in the Syllabus program, Joanna’s appreciation and interest of the wide range of architecture has grown. Joanna is halfway through completing her Syllabus courses and upon graduating, will be completing her written and oral examination to achieve her registration as an architect.
Joanna is highly motivated, enthusiastic and enjoys collaborating on projects. She believes that there are always opportunities for co-workers to learn from each other’s experience or through out the phases of projects.
