Andrea completed both her Undergraduate and Graduate studies at The University of Waterloo. While developing her Masters thesis, she found inspiration in exploring the tenuous role of architecture and design in End-of-Life Care. Her Masters thesis posited the value, necessity, and design guidelines for hospice design in Ontario, which opened her eyes to the importance of effective and sensitive Institutional design sensibilities.
Following her defense, Andrea decided to spend 5 years broadening her knowledge of the overall building and construction industry, working in the home-building, land re-zoning and development, and commercial interiors construction management sectors. These years away from architectural consulting and design gave her first-hand appreciation for the integral role of good Architects and project success. Andrea’s portfolio ranges from heritage transportation/public works in Toronto on the Union Station Revitalization project to commercial projects in Santa Monica and Montreal, a 50-acre development off Lake Simcoe, and various custom homes in the Greater Toronto area.
Now, Andrea is committing her efforts towards getting licensed and re-visiting her original design interests in healthcare and educational facilities with Thinkspace. Outside of the office, she is a dedicated yoga practitioner and soon-to-be teacher, as well as an avid volleyball and tennis player. Kelowna has provided the homecoming to a discipline and location Andrea has long dreamt of, but only now realized following her recent cross-country move from Toronto.
