The Vancouver Sun Run

As part of our work, we strive to continuously build relationships with the communities that surround us. The Vancouver Sun Run provides the perfect opportunity for our team members to get absorbed in the city, as well as help promote our work culture through setting and overcoming personal challenges. We spend a lot of time at work together and the Sun Run allows us to have fun together outside of work. 2016 was our first year entering a team in the Sun Run and we had 20 out of 28 staff participate. This year our team is expected to have over 25 staff and family members participate, and we are working together to raise funds for an amazing charity, the Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon (RMH BC).
RMH BC is a charity that helps keep seriously ill children and their families together when they come to Vancouver in search of medical treatment for their child. Often families have no place to call home during the treatment, it can be weeks, or months, and sometimes even years. This is where RMH BC comes in; they started out with a 13-bedroom home in Shaughnessy in 1983, and over the years they have grown. They now have a 73-bedroom house on the grounds of BC Children’s Hospital as well as a room within Surrey Memorial Hospital.
