Kelowna Parklet Erected for Second Year
Posted in News

For the second year in a row, Thinkspace's Kelowna office has participated in the city's Meet Me on Bernard design initiative and created a parklet on Bernard St. to celebrate summer in the Okanagan.
From the design team: "breezeWAVE [the name of the installation] is designed to emphasize and celebrate the natural elements of Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley, and provide the public with a dynamic and interactive place to pause on Bernard."
"Wood framing embodies an important Okanagan industry, and sailboat trampoline netting is utilized as seating in a nod to the lake and active watersport seen throughout the Okanagan, while canvas draping provides shade, emphasizes the wind, and represents sails on the lake. Chalkboards are a backdrop for creativity."
"We hope our parklet provides an opportunity to share time with friends and family, feel the movement of air through the street, and feel movement in a static built environment."
Make sure you check out breezeWAVE if you're in Kelowna between now and Labour Day!
