Gus Spanos – Senior Architect

We are pleased to announce that Gus Spanos has accepted the role of lead healthcare architect in our Surrey office.
Gus is also assuming a leading role in client relations, marketing, business development, and acquisition of new projects.
This seasoned professional brings three decades of diversified design-build experience, including projects such as critical response (fire stations, police facilities), art galleries, healthcare, post-secondary, residential and commercial.
Gus has led large project teams and stakeholder groups to collaborate and facilitate decisions on project vision, design, constructability and sustainability.
In recent years Gus’s practice has cultivated specific expertise in the healthcare and post-secondary markets for infrastructure upgrades and building care facilities and teaching spaces.
“For me, the work is about creating compelling and robust environments that can be used and enjoyed for years. I am motivated to enhance the cultural context and add value and insight into the design.”
A benefit of this diverse experience is his ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders while maintaining an open line of communication throughout every phase of a project.
Gus has long been a practitioner and teacher of karate, having achieved a 5th-degree black belt in the discipline. He is also a volunteer minor hockey coach, which he does for the joy of giving back and helping kids improve their skills while having fun. Gus is also an avid road cyclist.
