Thinkspace

Canadian Red Cross office tenant improvement

Client: Canadian Red Cross
Location: Burnaby
Project size: 15,100 sq ft
Overview:

With the majority of staff working from home during the pandemic, the Canadian Red Cross hired Thinkspace to help them dramatically downsize their spatial utilization and still support their critical operations.   Thinkspace provided a compact but efficient layout which provides plenty of workstations, meeting space and social spaces for team collaboration. A neutral colour palette with pops of red furnishings create a serene and comfortable work environment for staff returning to the office.

The reception area features a light fixture shaped as a red painted cross providing a powerful representation of their brand. Three large meeting rooms can be separated or combined with operable walls to create one large space for preparing for emergency campaigns. Felt baffles are used throughout the training /meeting rooms to help mitigate sound in these bustling rooms. A flock of white birds take flight over the collaboration area providing an uplifting atmosphere for staff busy making lives better for people around the world. Dynamic groups of soft seating provide a social zone as an overflow to the kitchen. An end of trip facility with shower and wellness room provide staff with much needed spaces to promote self-care and mental health.

Thinkspace collaborated with the Red Cross’ furniture supplier to select and source all the workstations, office and ancillary furniture to well suit the design.
