Five Questions with a New RPP – Dayna Wlasoff

On April 30, 2021, Dayna Wlasoff in Thinkspace’s Surrey office became a Registered Professional Planner (RPP). The designation is the end product of a long journey that started nearly a decade ago with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Science, led to a master’s degree in Planning, and eventually culminated in the rigorous RPP certification requirements, which included two years of work experience, a one-year mentorship, an ethics course and exam, and finally the professional exam.

54 Runners and Walkers in 2021 Sun Run

The Vancouver Sun Run is a major event in the city each spring. Since its inception in 1985, it has become the third largest timed 10km road race in North America. It’s a great opportunity to be part of a fun community event and Thinkspace has put together a team for the last several years. We – along with the other 40,000-odd runners who sign up every year – were ready to participate in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to COVID-19.

Maddaugh Elementary School Featured in Award Magazine

With the Surrey School District growing by an average of 1000 students per year, a series of modified repeat designs based on the award-winning Mar Jok Elementary School located in Kelowna, B.C. where proposed to meet the urgent need for more space.

The new Maddaugh Elementary School, with a capacity of 525 Grade 1 to 7 students and 80 Kindergarten students, is one of the three new sister schools in the District and has been featured in the March 2021 issue of Award Magazine.
